A Logic Framework for Non-Conscious Reasoning

چکیده
Abstract: Human non-conscious reasoning is one of the most successful procedures developed to 9 solve everyday problems in an efficient way. This is why the field of artificial intelligence should 10 analyze, formalize and emulate the multiple ways of non-conscious reasoning with the purpose of 11 applying them in knowledge based systems, neurocomputers and similar devices for aiding people 12 in the problem-solving process. In this paper, a framework for those non-conscious ways of 13 reasoning is presented based on object-oriented representations, fuzzy sets and multivalued logic. 14

A Formal Bi-Logic Framework for the Mental Processes
This paper addresses questions of the transition related to conscious processes and unconscious processes, namely aims to substantiating a primary framework to the following open question: The vast majority of brain activity is non-conscious. What is the criterion to distinguish the non-conscious activities from conscious ones? To support our answers in a principled way, we present a general fr...

The CIVS (Civilization-Inspired Vying Societies) system is a novel evolutionary learning multi-agent system that uses artificial life methods to produce highly-capable artificial intelligence agents proficient in one or more complex tasks as well as more general adaptability, reasoning, and survivability in dynamic, unpredictable environments. متن کاملAn Assumption-Based Framework for Non-Monotonic Reasoning
The notion of assumption-based framework generalises and reenes the use of abduction to give a formalisation of non-monotonic reasoning. In this framework, a sentence is a non-monotonic consequence of a theory if it can be derived monotonically from a theory extended by means of acceptable assumptions. The notion of acceptability for such assumptions is formulated in terms of their ability succ...

متن کاملSyntax and Semantics of a Monotonic Framework for Non-Monotonic Reasoning
We present the proof theory and the model theory of a monotonic framework for default reasoning, and we extend logic programming techniques to this framework. Standard for-malizations of default reasoning do not syntactically separate between hard knowledge and conjectural knowledge. Such a separation is fundamental in our framework. To illustrate our approach, we show how it solves the Yale Sh...
